What's a director's service contract: full time, and when do you need it?
This template is for the hire of a director, rather than an employee. If you’re hiring someone that’s not a director, take a look at our standard employment contract template instead. Both of these templates can be adapted to suit most full-time hiring situations.
All our employment templates are drafted on the basis that your business is the employer (if another business within your same group is the employer, this agreement will not contain the right terms. Let us know if this is the case and we will help you obtain the right template as a starting point.)
Our director’s service agreement is drafted as a deed. Deeds are like contracts, but the only significant difference is that all signatures to them are witnessed by independent third parties. Deeds are appropriate to agreements like this one, where the parties are agreeing to significant obligations and it is valuable to demonstrate, by the presence of a witness in each case, that both sides fully understand the ramifications to themselves of those obligations.
