What’s a Letter confirming employment and ending probation period and when do you need it?

You should use this letter when an employee has successfully passed their probation period and you want to confirm their employment with your business.

Ideally, you should have already informed the employee that they have passed their probation period during their probation review meeting. This letter should then be used a follow-up.

It simply confirms your decision, in writing, that the employee has successfully passed their probation period and is the last step to confirming their appointment to their job role.

It is common for most offers of employment to rest on the satisfactory completion of a short probationary period. This time enables you as an employer to see how the employee works and whether they are a good fit with your business. Likewise, they allow employees to spend a good amount of time adjusting to their new role before becoming fully committed to it.

Upon passing their probation period, employees will be eligible for your business benefits such as your company pension scheme.
